Metal Gear

Before it became a sprawling, cinematic epic, Metal Gear was a humble 1987 experiment that changed gaming forever. As rookie operative Solid Snake, you infiltrate the fortress of Outer Heaven to dismantle a nuclear-equipped walking tank. Unlike the run-and-gun shooters of its era, this title forced you to play like a ghost, prioritizing stealth and evasion over mindless carnage. It is a gritty, 80s-inspired spy thriller that birthed the tactical espionage genre, proving that sometimes the most dangerous weapon isn't a gun, but the ability to stay hidden in the shadows.
